Peugeot 206 radio won't stop beeping!?

I've recently had my car repaired and they jump started it (badly) for some reason, breaking my cpu and bsi and god knows what else.

These have been replaced and the car appears to be fine (except now the mileage is 17k miles higher than before) but every time I turn the radio on it makes this annoying beeping noise every few seconds.

How do I get this to stop? I asked in a dealership and they said I should have a 4 digit code in my manuals but I don't.

I know that a Peugeot has feline aspirations etc, but you really shouldn't have had it fixed in the same way that a vet can fix a cat....

If you have given the 'repairer' adequate chances to remedy the problem, tell them you are going to take it to a Peugeot agent and send them the bill. It sounds like they caused the problem and should therefore remedy it.

It may need a code or it may need resetting by the dealer computer system

Bleep is normal. My gran had a brand new 206 back in 2003 and it used to do that when you removed the key. I can't remember what it said in the handbook though. I think it's to do with the immobiliser switching on/off. or it's the radio.

Same thing happened to me. I was able to drive it but the noise carried on.

Once I got home, the noise stopped within a few minutes and next morning it was fine.

I disconnected the battery for 10 seconds the next morning to reset things in case it's a system issue.

Seems fine now. (2014 April)

ask the dealers for the radio code. they may charge you.
