i bought a peugeot 206 around christmas time (08) since we got it we have had nothing but trouble to be honest but hey, that's a different story
but my problem is that the car is so smoky! ive tried a treatment thing about 20k miles ago but it never helped in the slightest. (the car has 120k miles on it so its very high, but it has come with full service history)

it also smells very exhausty inside the car when we go on runs (if that makes sense!) im just wondering if anyone knows or has a hint of whats wrong?

Ive already changed:

CV joint
Ball joint
Exhaust is being changed this weekend
brake disks/pads

any suggestions will be great thanks

Change your oil filter and fuel filter, that may get rid of the smoke.

there are a lot of intelligent people on this site unfortunatly none have answered your question. i wish that folk on here would just shut up and not answer questions with stupid answers, this does not help the site and it will scare normal folk away from posting genuine questions. Ok, did your vehicle run ok before the mechanic serviced it, if so then he may have not checked the gaps on the spark plugs, these plugs are *flung* from the back of a lorry into the stores and they may have closed thier gaps when they hit the ground. another fault with th 206 is the coil packs, these break down all the time and if you are lucky you will be covered by peugeots 60,000 miles OR 3 years warranty, if so take it to guys like myself and we will help you. good luck.

i had this problem with my 2007 one and it was very smoky - obviously because it was on warranty the garage sorted it out but never told me what the problem was - a common thing they did.

I also had to have a new gear box, 4 new tyres, a new exhaust and also can you believe a new engine - this took a total of 3 months.

In the end i sold the car as it was more trouble than it was worth

I think maybe you should demand things from the people who sold you the car as its not your fault it has come with all these problems

If it has been used hard before you got it it is probably just a worn out engine
